Wisakha Bucha Walk and Run Event for Healthy Living without Alcohol

In 2008, Alcohol control center of the Northeastern region of StopDrink Network, organized a walk and run event in Khon Kaen province on Wisakha Bucha day 2008. (Wisakha Bucha is the anniversary of the Lord Buddha‘s birth, enlightenment and entry into nirvana.) We promoted a concept of healthy living by conforming the Buddhist’s Five Precept rules which include refraining from alcohol consumption.  In addition, we made available a signing petition for people who wish to support the endorsement of No Alcohol Day on the first day of Buddhist Lent.
