Children and Youth Network Requested for Alcohol Control Reinforcement
Over thirty representatives of Children and Youth Network, StopDrink Network and Thai Health Promotion Foundation jointly delivered an unsealed letter to the Prime Minister of Thailand, Abhisit Vejjajiva on January 6th, 2009. The letter requested for the PM’s support on the reinforcement of Alcohol Control Act B.E. 2551. This is a following up action to boost up attention and support of the government on law enforcement as the law has been enacted since 14 February 2008. More importantly, it requested the government to draft an implementation of banning alcohol-sale around the area nearby educational institutions. If the government commit to the above requests, it would be a great present to the nation during the Children day this year.
