Alcohol-Free Buddhist Lent Campaign for Family

Buddhist Lent is the National Alcohol-Free day in Thailand which Thai GOV. had announced since last Buddhist Lent day. StopDrink Network and Thai Health Foundation are launching an alcohol-free Buddhist Lent campaign. This year the theme will be family oriented by using the slogan “Children ask parents to quit drinking during this Buddhist Lent”.

Based on the data from Alcohol Help Line, 80% of 7,034 calls for counseling were from families with a drinking father.  Therefore, StopDrink Network is using this campaign to ask parents to quit alcohol drinking for at least 3 months during Buddhist Lent for their family.

In addition, our partners are committing and introducing several activities to promote alcohol-free Buddhist Lent at the national and community levels. Rehabilitation center will be set at 171 temples across the nation during Buddhist Lent.
